BARN Ordination Program

What is ordination?

Ordination Service

Ordination, in Christian churches, a rite for the dedication and commitment of ministers. The essential ceremony consists of the laying of hands of the ordaining minister upon the head of the one being ordained, with prayer for the gifts of the Holy Spirit and of grace required for the carrying out of the ministry.

The ceremony of bestowing a person with a position of religious authority — as when someone becomes a minister. The noun ordination comes from the Latin word ordinary, meaning “put in order.” Becoming a religious leader usually requires training in a seminary followed by an ordination.

Why become ordained?

Ordination confers authority, but righteousness are required to act with power as we strive to lift souls, to teach and testify, to bless and counsel, and to advance the work of the Kingdom. Ordination means that you are being authorized to work on the Lord’s behalf for his Kingdom. Ordination is serious business, it will shift your life, heart, and understanding of God’s kingdom as you move from laity to the role of clergy. It is important to take this role seriously.

It will cost you everything…

Ordination is not simply being given a title. You are testifying before the Lord that you will act responsibly as a leader in His Church as you serve His Body. In your commitment to being ordained, you are giving your life away.

Are you ready to lay down life as normal to embrace serving God’s kingdom? We want you to weigh this manner carefully because it will cost you everything. If you are ready and willing to lay down your life, then let’s get started.

Below, you will find the link to the ordination pages. Below are is the process of becoming ordained as an official BARN minister.

Ordination Requirements

  • Commitment to relationship with God.

We believe that Jesus is the only way to salvation and that there are not many roads to salvation. Those wishing to be ordained by us must affirm the Christian values that affirm Jesus as Lord. We also believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as God and the way to access that relationship with the Father and Holy Spirit is by accepting Jesus His son.

  • Commitment to God's Word

1 Kings 8: verse 61 says: And may your hearts be fully committed to the LORD our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time. We believe that Leaders in God’s church should be committed to the Scripture as God’s word. Not simply in word, but also in lifestyle. The bible states that the Holy Spirit leads us into all truth and has confirmed and will continue to confirm the scripture as God’s word to us.

  • Commitment to the Body of Christ

We believe that leaders in God’s church must be committed to the body of Christ both locally and globally. Hebrews 10: 25 states not to neglect meeting together. Whether it is a traditional church or house church, leaders should be committed to the body of Christ. Acts 20: 28 also chargers leaders to care for the flock. Leaders must love God’s body.

  • Commitment to Righteous Living & Sanctification

We believed that we are saved by grace through faith and we are free sons and daughters of the kingdom. Yet, there is a greater standard of living, integrity, and holiness required for leaders as expressed in 1 & 2 Timothy and Titus. Therefore, we require that Leaders maintain a holy lifestyle in order to be considered for ordination. That doesn’t mean that you have to be perfect, but it mean that you will be teachable, correctable, and willing to repent if needed.

  • Commitment to Traditional Christian Views

In addition to believing that Jesus is Lord and the author of salvation, we want to be clear on some of the foundational truths of scripture that we hold to. Before you consider ordination with us, we invite you to view or statement of Faith.

  • Commitment to Our Statement of Faith

We encourager you to read in totality our statement of Faith prior to committed to be ordained with BARN. We ask that both those who are ordained as affiliates and those who serve BARN commit to our statement of Faith.

Receiving the authority of the priesthood by the laying on of hands is an important beginning, but it is not enough. Ordination confers authority, but righteousness is required to act with power as we strive to lift souls, to teach and testify, to bless and counsel, and to advance the work of salvation.
